The Children’s Inn Named Finalist for NACD DE&I Awards

BETHESDA, Md. — July 8, 2024 —The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has been named a finalist for the 2024 Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Awards, the National Association of Corporate Directors announced. The Inn is one of 10 finalists for the NACD’s annual awards, which were first given out in 2018.

The NACD DE&I Awards celebrate and recognize forward-thinking corporate boards that leverage the power of DE&I to enhance their governance, create long-term value for stakeholders, and build innovative and inclusive boardrooms and workplaces. The finalists will be recognized in October at the 2024 NACD Directors Summit, the premier corporate governance event of the year which brings together 1,300+ governance experts, business leaders, and policy makers to discuss the latest innovations, opportunities, and challenges in the governance ecosystem.

 

The Inn is joined as a finalist by Bally’s Corporation, CommonSpirit Health, Delta Dental of Washington, ECMC Group, Gilead Sciences, Granite Construction Inc., Horizon Mutual Holdings Inc., Northwestern Mutual, and Wag! Group Co. NACD announced that its finalists “have demonstrated leadership in how their composition, culture, and practices align with their company’s DE&I objectives; how the board’s approach to DE&I benefits the organization and external stakeholders; and how the company’s DE&I initiatives have driven innovation.

 

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core principles guiding The Inn’s mission of providing “A Place Like Home” to seriously ill children, teens, young adults, and their families from across the United States and around the world. The Inn is committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment through our operations, recruitment, community outreach, fundraising, and other engagement initiatives. Three of the 10 companies will be recognized as award winners at the NACD Directorship 100 Awards Gala in December.
