Beth Meagher Joins The Children’s Inn at NIH Board of Directors

BETHESDA, Md. (Oct. 3, 2019) – Today, The Children’s Inn at National Institutes of Health (NIH) announced Beth Meagher, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP, has joined its board of directors. Beth serves in a number of capacities at Deloitte – she is the government and public services strategy and transformation leader; she leads its federal life sciences and health non-profit practices; and serves as the lead client services partner for the NIH.

She has more than 20 years of experience serving clients across the federal government, private sector and non-profit community with a focus on strategy, innovation, growth, public-private partnerships, stakeholder management, change management, executive leadership and communications.

Meagher also leads a number of Deloitte’s pro-bono projects to help The Children’s Inn develop an IT strategic plan, evaluate family programs and activities as well as create a customer journey mapping experience. She and members of her team have been regular volunteers at The Inn, serving family dinners, creating thoughtful treasures for the children and more. In addition to The Children’s Inn, Meagher also serves on the BioHealth Innovation, Inc. board.

“As a mom and a professional dedicated to public health, I am thrilled to join the Children’s Inn board to continue their mission of supporting families of children seeking treatment for rare and serious illnesses at NIH,” said Meagher. “Over the years, I’ve seen first-hand the impact of the Children’s Inn and believe very strongly in the role it plays in helping families during a very difficult time.”

She holds a master’s degree in organizational management, policy studies from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurial studies and communications studies from Muhlenberg College.

She and her husband live in Washington, D.C., with their two children.

Located on the NIH campus, The Children’s Inn is a nonprofit hospitality house that provides free lodging and supportive services to families of children with rare and serious illnesses whose best hope for a treatment or cure is a clinical trial at the NIH.

Every year, The Children’s Inn houses more than 1,700 children and their families from across the United States and the world to help reduce the burden of illness on families, make childhood possible despite illness and advance medical breakthroughs at the NIH that benefit children today and generations to come.
