Spiritual Support

Spiritual Support at The Children’s Inn

With families staying here from all around the world, it’s no surprise that we have a variety of religions and cultures represented at The Inn. We offer scriptures and religious literature of most faiths in our Reflection Space for families to borrow during their stay. Clinical Center chaplains and chaplain interns extend their services to caregivers and families at The Inn during Tuesday Caregiver Gatherings and one to two evenings each week from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Please ask a Manager or program staff for assistance if you would like to arrange time with a chaplain at The Inn during one of their evening visits or at another scheduled time.

Religious Services and Ministry at the NIH Clinical Center

The NIH Clinical Center’s Department of Spiritual Ministry provides religious services, spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families. Chaplains are available as a supportive presence and listening ear regardless of your faith tradition or if you have no particular tradition or practice. Chaplains are available for personal visits with you and your loved ones. Catholic, Jewish, Muslim and Protestant chaplains hold regular services in the Inter-Faith Chapel located on the 7th floor of the Clinical Center. If your faith is not represented within the staff, at your request, the chaplains will contact your faith group representative on your behalf.
