Ashley Domm Announced as New Chief Philanthropy and Communications Officer at The Children’s Inn
She joins The Inn leadership team starting in July

The Children’s Inn at NIH is excited to announce the hiring of Ashley Domm as The Inn’s new Chief Philanthropy and Communications Officer. Domm, who most recently served as the Head of Advancement & Chief Development Officer at Bread for the City, is a nonprofit and community engagement leader with expertise in philanthropy, communications, stakeholder engagement, and organizational strategy and growth.

Throughout her career, Domm has enabled mission-driven organizations to expand their impact through transformational partnerships, compelling storytelling, and resource generation. She brings a wealth of leadership experience to The Inn, including positions in higher education, community health centers, and social impact organizations.
At Bread for the City, Domm led fundraising, communications, volunteer engagement, and external affairs during a period of historic growth. She helped the organization to achieve multiple record-breaking fundraising years, exceeding $20 million in annual revenue. She also played a key leadership role in the successful completion of a $30 million capital campaign for the development of a state-of-the-art community service and healthcare center, expanding access to essential services for thousands of individuals and families.
Previously, Domm held advancement leadership positions at Georgetown University, where she designed capital campaign strategy and led transformative giving initiatives that advanced institutional impact through strengthened relationships with major philanthropic partners. Those efforts included the establishment of the McCourt School of Public Policy.
Known for building high-performance teams and cultivating meaningful relationships with donors, institutional partners, volunteers, and community stakeholders, Domm has extensive experience guiding organizations through growth, change management, and complex operating environments. Her work has consistently focused on advancing access, opportunity, and impact through strengthening organizational scale and sustainability. She is passionate about connecting mission, innovation, and philanthropy to improve outcomes for individuals and communities.
A graduate of Gettysburg College, the Cooperstown Graduate Program, and the University of Sheffield, Domm has also served on nonprofit boards and collaborative initiatives focused on social impact, food access, healthcare, and community well-being.
Domm succeeds Fern Stone as the Chief Philanthropy and Communications Officer at The Inn. Stone, who served in the role for 18 years, will remain at The Inn in a part-time role as Special Advisor, Capital Campaign through the conclusion of the ongoing Building Extraordinary campaign.
