Liz Wurster Joins The Children’s Inn at NIH Board of Directors

BETHESDA, Md. (Jan. 30, 2020) – As the executive director at J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Washington, D.C., Liz Wurster oversees client relationships and provides strategic advice to individuals, families and nonprofit organizations regarding investments, lending, pre-transaction planning, estate planning and charitable giving.

She formerly worked at Lehman Brothers and Barclays in New York, where she gained international business experience as the controller of the firm’s Canadian business. In that role, she helped optimize the capital structure and supported the expansion of the investment banking and equity trading platforms in Toronto. She also served as a deal controller for the structured capital markets desk, managing the accounting, tax and regulatory reporting requirements for several complex structures.

In addition to serving on The Children’s Inn’s board of directors and finance committee, she is a board member of The Family Tree in Baltimore.

“I was introduced to the Inn in 2014 and immediately fell in love with the mission. As I got to know the amazing team that runs the Inn and meet some of the families that it serves, I knew it was something special, and I wanted to be a part of it,” said Wurster. “As a board member, my goal is to help position The Inn for the future by ensuring its financial viability for another 30-plus years.”

Wurster holds an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and degrees in business administration and English literature from Franklin & Marshall College.

She lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland, with her husband and two daughters.

Located on the NIH campus, The Children’s Inn is a nonprofit hospitality house that provides free lodging and supportive services to families of children with rare and serious illnesses whose best hope for a treatment or cure is a clinical trial at the NIH.
