Kamal Narang Joins The Children’s Inn at NIH Board of Directors

BETHESDA, Md. (Dec. 18, 2019) – Kamal Narang, vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology’s (GDIT) federal health sector, recently joined the board of directors of The Children’s Inn at NIH.

With more than 20 years of experience in federal health IT, Narang oversees GDIT’s strategic direction and the performance of teams responsible for delivering IT services and solutions for a number of agencies. These agencies include the Department of Veterans Affairs, Defense Health Agency, Social Security Administration, and the Department of Health and Human Services, including National Institutes of Health, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Food and Drug Administration.

“I am excited to continue my work with this amazing organization and honored to support the important mission of the Children’s Inn at NIH,” said Vice President Kamal Narang, head of GDIT’s Health Sector. “I started my career at NIH as a systems analyst and became a frequent visitor of the Inn. Each experience warms my heart and provides a real reflection of the important work we are doing to improve the lives of so many courageous children and their families. I look forward to working with the board and the Inn staff to help expand their work and create meaningful opportunities for the greater community.”

He holds an MBA from the University of Maryland, a master’s degree in computer science from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in physics and computer science from the University of Mumbai.

Narang and his wife, Priya, and two sons live in Rockville, Maryland.

Located on the NIH campus, The Children’s Inn is a nonprofit hospitality house that provides free lodging and supportive services to families of children with rare and serious illnesses whose best hope for a treatment or cure is a clinical trial at the NIH.

Every year, The Children’s Inn houses more than 1,700 children and their families from across the United States and the world to help reduce the burden of illness on families, make childhood possible despite illness and advance medical breakthroughs at the NIH that benefit children today and generations to come.
