Successful Golf Tournament Drives Major Funds for The Children’s Inn
On September 27th, The Children’s Inn at NIH held its 14th Annual Golf INNvitational at the Lakewood Country Club. Almost 150 Inn supporters gathered on a gorgeous day to have fun and show off their golfing skills while raising critical funds to support the children, young adults and families who call The Inn home while participating in clinical trials at the National Institutes of Health. The outing has raised more than a million dollars since its inception.
Kicking off the event, Jennie Lucca, CEO of The Children’s Inn expressed her gratitude for the golfers support noting that it “truly makes a difference to the many families we serve.” The Inn provides a free ‘place like home’ for families, while also reducing the burden of illness through therapeutic, educational and recreational programs. Zilly, The Inn’s therapy dog and favorite team member, was also present, receiving lots of snuggles and attention as she helped give out the golfer gifts, a golf club cover that resembles her likeness.
This event would not have been possible without the continued commitment of our sponsors, most especially the EagleBank Foundation, the INNvitational’s platinum sponsor. Additionally, we thank our gold sponsors Deloitte, Booz Allen Hamilton, Davis Construction and TerpSys. Click here for our complete list of sponsors.
