The Children's Inn at NIH receives $50K donation

The Children's Inn at NIH recently received a $50,000 donation from the Rock and Roll for Children Foundation.

BETHESDA, Md. (Nov. 17, 2017) -- The Rock and Roll for Children Foundation (RRFC) recently presented a $50,000 check to The Children’s Inn at NIH, a private nonprofit that provides free lodging and supportive services to children with rare or critical illnesses whose last and only hope for a treatment is a clinical trial at the National Institutes of Health.

The funds were raised through the foundation’s 2017 benefit concert, headlined by Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul, featuring rock legend Steven Van Zandt. The event, held at The Fillmore Silver Spring in March, also comprised an auction that allowed attendees to bid on a wide range of rock ‘n’ roll and sports memorabilia, among other items.

“The Rock and Roll for Children Foundation has a huge heart for seriously ill children, and we’re so grateful for their dedicated support as well as the support of the many talented musicians who make this wonderful event happen,” said Jennie Lucca, CEO of The Children’s Inn at NIH. “The support of the community and caring rock musicians helps lift the burden of illness for our children and their families when they need it most. We’re already looking forward to next year’s concert!”
