Naming Gifts and Recognition
The Children’s Inn at NIH has many gift opportunities to name a room, facility, area or program. The gift levels suggested below are intended only as minimum amounts needed to name each respective opportunity. In most cases, gifts/pledges may be paid over as long as five years.
Building & Facilities – Suggested Amounts
The gift minimums listed below are intended to be guidelines. The Inn’s Board of Directors may grant exceptions after consultation with the CEO and other senior staff.
7 West Drive Facility:
A-B Wing – (18 rooms) $1 million
C-D Wing – (18 rooms) $1 million
E-Wing – (23 rooms) $1.5 million
Administrative Office Suite – $350,000
Multi-purpose Room – $150,000
Arts & Crafts Studio – $100,000
Board Conference Room – $100,000
Windows Corridor (2nd floor) – $100,000
2nd Floor Terrace (2nd floor –front) – $75,000
Administrative Conference Room – $35,000
CEO Conference Room – $25,000
Children’s Book Nook – $25,000
Named Endowed Funds* – $100,000+
*A donor may establish a Named Endowment Fund, for example in memory of a loved one, with the earnings designated for either a restricted or unrestricted purpose. The minimum gift to establish a named endowment is $100,000. Donors will have the option to start a new Named Endowment Fund with a minimum gift of $25,000 and a written pledge of such that the entire pledge of $100,000 is fulfilled within four years of receipt of the first $25,000 gift. If the total pledge is not fulfilled within the four-year specified period, the Named Endowment Fund will be dissolved and the corpus and residual earnings directed to the general purpose Inn Endowment Fund. Unless specified in the donor gift instrument, the spending policy for named endowment will follow the Endowment Spending Policy. The fund will become permanent and the name recognized in the Donor Hall.
