Young Ambassadors Council
Do you want to join a group of energetic professionals involved in a great community organization? The Young Ambassadors Council (YAC) was founded in 2011 to increase opportunities for individuals in their 20s, 30s, and 40s to become involved with raising funds and awareness for the mission and programs at The Children’s Inn at NIH. Led by a volunteer council, Young Ambassadors support The Inn’s mission through fundraising, social events, volunteer projects, community outreach initiatives, and much more.
Young Ambassadors make an annual donation of at least $25.00 and are invited to participate in several volunteer opportunities and special events at The Inn. Other benefits of being a Young Ambassador:
- Receive pre-ticket-sale discounts on ticketed events including the YAC’s annual junior gala, A WINNter Affair
- Opportunity to apply to serve on a YAC sub-committee
- Opportunities to network with other like-minded young professionals
- Name recognition on YAC page of The Inn’s website (if desired)
- Priority for volunteer slots when signing up for YAC-sponsored volunteer projects

YAC Events and Volunteer Opportunities
The YAC organizes and participates in several different and exciting fundraisers throughout the year. Check back regularly as we add new events.
Volunteer Opportunities -YAC Family Dinners
The YAC provides a large meal for Inn families four times throughout the year. These “Family Dinners” allow families to relax, while alleviating the worries of transportation, grocery shopping, and the hassle of preparing a meal after a long day of traveling or at appointments. This is also a great opportunity for families to meet, mingle and interact with other families who are also facing a serious illness.
Please note: Volunteers may sign up for a Family Dinner beginning one month before each event. If you would like to receive email invitations to sign up for dinners, you must join the YAC Network as a Friend of the YAC or Young Ambassador.
Anyone coming to The Inn must be in good health. If you have a cold, flu-like symptoms, or have been exposed to chickenpox, measles, or shingles in the past three weeks, please do not come to The Inn.
Space is limited and spots will be given on a first come, first served basis. If we can accommodate your request to help at a family dinner, you will receive an email confirmation with instructions.
