Group Volunteer Opportunities
Each volunteer receives the gift of giving every time they spend time with the children and families at The Inn, and this experience truly enriches lives. Every small effort comforts the children and brings as much happiness to them as you receive by sharing. Whether you are a part of a school, business, religious organization, club, or community group, we have several rewarding volunteer opportunities for groups of all sizes and ages.
Host a Fundraiser
Want to help The Inn from your own home, school, office, or community group? You can organize a Fundraiser! More info
Organize a Collection Drive
Want to help The Inn from your own home, school, office, or community group? You can organize a collection drive asking your friends, family, co-workers, or classmates to donate items from our wish list. It’s as easy as making an announcement detailing our most needed items, collecting the items, and dropping off or shipping them to The Children’s Inn.
Thoughtful Treasures Mailbox Gifts
Bring happiness to a child’s stay at The Inn by making Thoughtful Treasures for their mailboxes. Each resident family receives a key to their own mailbox, where a special treasure is awaiting each patient and sibling every day. Thoughtful Treasures can be hand-made or store-bought.
Service Day Opportunities
Local businesses and organizations are invited to host a group service day, either at their office or at The Inn. Service days allow businesses and organizations not only to fulfill their colleagues innate desire to volunteer, but it’s also a great way to increase job satisfaction, encourage team building, increase corporate social responsibility, and most importantly, put a smile on a child’s face.
Examples of service days include: Thoughtful Treasure’s workshops, facilities related projects, baking or putting together treats for our refreshment cart, or making pre-prepared meals to be frozen and saved for families who might not have the time or means to make meals.
Family Dinner Program
We invite groups and organizations to provide a meal for all of the families staying at The Inn. These family dinners allow The Inn residents to relax, while alleviating the worries of transportation, grocery shopping, and the hassle of preparing a meal after a long day of traveling or spending hours at the hospital with a sick child. The group or organization that provides a Family Dinner may either drop off the meal or stay to serve the families. While we are not at our busiest on Sundays, providing a Family Dinner on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday is also an option.
Family Brunch Program
Groups are invited to provide and serve brunch to the families staying at The Inn. Brunches occur every Sunday from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Sundays are a busy day for both check-ins and check-outs. Family brunches help to provide a nice meal to families preparing for their journey home and a nice greeting for families who have just arrived. These families brunches allow The Inn residents to spend time together during their weekends, which are usually free of appointments.
Please note that all volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
